In memory of Shlomi Eyal
Shlomi was born and grew up in Nazareth. He discovered his love of fencing a the age of 9. His career cumulated in 1984, when he represented Israel at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles, at the age of 21, achieving the respected 19th place.
After retiring from professional sports, Shlomi founded a fencing center in 1986 at the Nahalal Wizo Boarding school . Over the years, he trained children who excelled at the sport. After transferring his activities to Emek Izrael, the club gained considerable success.
Shlomi supported and trained hundreds of junior athletes, some of which achieved international success. He became the national youth team coach and a trainer at the sport excellence unit.
Shlomi Eyal passed away at the age of 60. He is mourned by his 3 children and generations of athletes who trained with him.
